What I did today

While on vacation, I decided to adopt the small discipline of taking a daily multi-vitamin. I started taking them about half-way during our vacation, and I think they did help a little, with my energy level.

So, we returned home last night. From 69 degrees and sunny to 1 below zero and snowy. And dark. We got semi-unpacked, and I made my lists of things to do today. And oh yes, we picked the dog up from her dog sitter. She got mixed reviews from the sitter this time. I still have a couple of questions for the vet regarding some of her dietary issues.

This morning we got off to a flying start. I had an early meeting with the superintendent of schools, and Husband had The First Day of Classes. We were both to scrape off our windshields and be off at about 7:30.

So, I'm feeding the dog, and getting ready to give her her medicine, when I see my multi-vitamin on the counter, and I think, oh, I better not forget to take that this morning. And then I get a glass of water and I proceed to swallow one of my dog's pills by mistake.

I also took a vitamin.

And I gave my dog another pill.

I think I still feel ok. I think.

Or, maybe I have another reason to call the vet.

Oops! It's a good thing she's not a really big dog or you would've had a big dose of something.

I suppose it's really NOT funny, but your taking Scout's pill made me laugh! :)

Hope you've been okay all day. Any more energy? Glad you're home, even if it's so cold.

Holy - um, holy crap Diane! Are you ok?

Oh dear I should not be laughing, but I can kind of see this look on your face.

Are you still OK??

It works the other way too. Not long ago my MIL accidentally gave the dog one of her pills instead of his own, and panicked calls to Animal Poison Control ensued. (The dog was fine.)

I'm surprised that this sort of thing doesn't happen more often, actually, in our house--especially when we're trying to do five things at once!

no, I think I'm still ok. unfortunately, Scout doesn't appear to be doing so well right now. threw up tonight and wouldn't eat her dinner, which is extremely rare for her. I'm trying not to overreact...

Diane, this was my best laugh of the day, after I learned you were OK. But now I see that Scout is not OK.

You will be fine, I'm sure. Prayers for Scout.

I still feel bad about laughing.

Oh, Diane... I hope Scout's tummy calms down soon. So sorry to hear she's still having these problems.

Quincy was on predisone and Amoxicillin so I would get his prescriptions from our pharmacy. They would sometimes insist on asking me for Quincy's SSN and wouldn't believe me that he was our dog and not our child.

Hope Scout is feeling better soon.

I think you will be fine, but if you start barking and experience the uncontrollable urge to chew on something, you might want to mae a phone call :)

Just kidding. I hope you are doing fine and welcome back from vacation.

Yikes ... hope you don't have any negative effects from taking Scout's pill and sure wish Scout didn't have to be sick any more.
