The Truth

I've been waking up every morning with a terrible back and neck ache, and some low grade sinus problems. Today my back is just a little sore, and my sinuses are finally better.

We've been doing some fun things (I'll post more later, if anyone is interested), but I've been disappointed in my lack of energy.

I thought the computer might be behind some of the back issues, so I'm trying to check in briefly.

Also, I had lots of tumultuous dreams last night. One was about trying to get to a pulpit exchange location and losing my car. So I think: I need to stay off the clergy blogs for the next couple of days, too.

Also thinking about the best ways to care for my health these days too. What about you? We are off to our morning walk!

My husband and I have recently integrated the daily multi-vitamin into our morning routine... It's a simple thing, but it has made such a difference to our energy levels through the day.

Hope your back and neck feel better soon!

Diane, prayers for you. Too much time at the computer messes up my upper arm and shoulder. Take care of yourself, my friend.

take care of yourself. and yep a hiatus from clergy conversations in all forms is part of doctor's orders. i've been dreaming of vacation... and can relate well to the need for "non-church space" in life.

find it & enjoy!

sounds like some good R&R and maybe a massage, if you like that sort of thing...

I've lots of similar dreams lately of trying to get somewhere, work/church related, and being unable too...

hope you really enjoy the rest of your time in AZ

Diane I am praying for you. I have found that neck things come up for me when I am having a difficult time adjusting to a change, but since you are on vacation, I don't know.

And the computer does screw with those things.

Have you ever taken yoga? I know you are busy but maybe when you get back to MN you can find a class.

And the vitamins help too!!

As for clergy related, I will share this quote that Pat(pastor) used at mass today. He and I went to lunch and spent a lot of time discussing it.

It is from Leonardo da Vinci:
“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer, since to remain constantly at work will cause you to lose power of judgment…Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller, and more of it can be taken in at a glance, and lack of harmony or proportion is more readily seen.”

I know you are away but I know you have a lot going on.

Stay disconnected- we will all be here awaiting you with great love when you get back.

Take care of YOU!

I used to have similar problems with energy levels--see if you can find a good naturopathic doctor.

I've taken a daily multivitamin for the past seven years or more, and I think I've been sick less often since taking them.

Neck pain is hard to bear. I hope it improves soon.

I too get back and neck trouble if I am at the computer too long. Ditto the multi vitamin, I take a fish oil, calcium/magnesium/D, and a multivitamin from LifeForce. End result is more energy, better gums and teeth, healthy me- as a physical recently confirmed. And a break from church things will allow you to clear your head. Self-care- we all struggle with it and we all need it. Rest and enjoy

I think staying away from clergy conversations is a good idea while on vacation. I stuggle with that myself but luckly I have a wife who keeps me in check when I start talking "shop". Have a great vacation and take care.
