It's been snowing this morning, and snowing all day yesterday too. Somehow, it doesn't feel right; doesn't feel like Easter. Where's my Easter bonnet and my new spring outfit?
In my heart of hearts I know this is wrong; Easter isn't about flowers and birds and buds on the trees and the inevitable but long-awaited coming of Spring. (lovely as that is) Easter is about the resurrection of the dead, about graves being opened, about freedom where there was slavery, about reconciliation where there was only estrangement, about life where there was death and decay.
It's not the dormancy of winter, something that only seemed dead. It's about something entirely natural being reversed by the power of the love of God.
Can these bones live?
O Lord, you know.

We all have to remember that March isn't even over yet. Another week. White Easter sounds odd, but it will be joyous. Easter Blessings.
Diane, of course those bones can live.
I burst out laughing when I read your title here, although I know your post is quite serious. I see each burst of laughter as a mini-resurrection, so thank you for this one. A blessed and happy Easter to you and yours.
Some virtual flowers to you Diane. And I'll tell mine to bloom extra today just for you.
Although I don't want to have another storm, here in the "north" we are still in a drought, third year. We haven't had a snow "storm" since December, only a few dustings. DNR type people are already preparing for spring fire season.
I've been enjoying my flower photos in my computer as a diversion from all the white outside.
mmmm but isn't there something suspenseful about the freshly fallen snow... the purity, the beauty, the hush it provides?
ok no snow here just gray & cold.
Beautiful post Diane... you are a poet! Also very easy for me to say while experiencing an absolutely perfect spring day here in sunny Louisiana.
Easter blessings to you and those you love and serve!
I love the title too ... thanks again for another poetic post! Easter blessings to you.
Easter Joy to you whether it is a white Easter or one awash in spring.
The truth is He Is Risen!
Thank you for your words and your wisdom Diane!
Fran appearing as her other self.
Enjoying a white Easter here as well--hope you and your family are having a great day.
Hope you had a wonderful, if white, Easter! Like the new look too!
