Sad news: I just learned that Dan Fogelberg died yesterday. His music provided meaningful foreground and background at certain periods of my life, but my friend Crysta has said it much better than I could over at her place.
Plus, she provides a snippet of his music.
Pay her a visit today.

Oh my gosh. That is so sad for us. He was such a musical gift. May he rest in sweet peace.
That is sad news - he was a wonderful musician... he'll be missed.
Rest in peace, Dan.
(Fogelberg died at the same age or very nearly, and from the same illness, as one of my very favourite Franciscan authors, Brother Ramon SSF.)
Oh, yes, I loved his music...
A couple of weeks ago I was driving around with some folks from my church taking home communion to shut-ins. They had an "all Christmas music" station playing, and I heard "Another Old Lang Syne" for the first time in many, many years. I was struck by what a good song it was... musically and poetically. It made me mist up for a particular time in my life.
So when the news that Dan Fogelberg was dead hit the airwaves a few days ago, his music was still fresh in my thoughts. I was surprised by how affected I was by this news. His music meant a lot to me.
Pax, C.
I loved him so much when I was in college and right after... which coincides when you were in college too.
I saw him in concert so many, many times back then.
May he rest in peace.
"Through the years, as the fire starts to mellow, burning lines in the book of our lives"
what a great singer he was.
