One of our Christmas presents the first year after we got married was a 20 piece place setting of some Christmas china. The idea was that every year we would be able to add some pieces to the china.
But, the next year the company discontinued the pattern.
A couple of years ago, I discovered that some of the pieces were available on ebay. But I never was brave enough actually to bid on anything.
This year I did.
Today the pieces came. This is how they looked.
It seems that some other things may be broken this Christmas, too. But, I'm working on them.

Sorry about the broken dishes ... hope the other broken things are soon repaired and whole again.
What is it about china? I have such a sentimental attachment to it. I'm sorry to see it shattered.
May you find wholeness in all the other corners. Merry Christmas.
Oh Diane... I'm sorry about the china.
oh rats! i hope you find some more pieces...

I hope they will replace that broken china with unbroken.
Meanwhile, maybe a lovely Christmas mosaic would be in order.
Mending prayers going your way.
Oh, how sad!
I have a thouoght I'll share in an e-mail, though, about another source for dishes....
Isn't that the way it goes. I'm sorry your china came broken but you just have to know there's a sermon in those broken pieces somewhere!
I have no doubt that you will find it someday. Until then, I wish you success in either replacing it or in finding another source.

yes, and I want to let everyone know that some of the pieces are usable, not all, though.
the ones that broke, broke in a lot of little pieces, the ones that didn't, weren't even chipped.
at least, I'm thankful for that.
and Marsha, yes, I know there is a sermon in there, I'm just not ready to preach it yet.
Sorry about the dishes.
Holding you in my thoughts for whatever the other thing might be.
So sorry. (((Diane)))

Take good care of the broken things, aside from the plates.
