I am being a Thanksgiving slug at a relatives' house today.
I am pondering the question: "What are you thankful for?"
I am considering the Scripture I heard at the revival Tuesday night: "In everything give thanks." In EVERYTHING give thanks. In everything GIVE thanks.
The house is filled with food, with babies, with toys.
There are still many cares. In the midst of them all, I give thanks.

Amen. We have much to give thanks for. At chapel this morning as we few gathered, we heard a wonderful message about the God who takes a gamble on us by lavishing us with such gifts of grace. Thanks be to God.
I was going to say that it's hard to give thanks for the difficult things, but then the light bulb went off. It doesn't say "FOR everything give thanks," it says "IN everything give thanks." That takes a bit of the load off.
I love the thought of in everything give thanks. Every now and then I can even manage it.
