I had never had an IV before.
I was fascinated by the drip drip drip
of the salty water
into my arm
and how it was saving me
making me alive
how thirsty I was!
how much I wanted a drink!
it was the one thing I needed most
but the one thing that my body rejected
there's a lesson in here somewhere
you tell me what it is
There are a number of ways to "receive" living water...drinking is only one of them...sometimes we need help getting the water we need/desire?
ReplyDeleteWhat are you thirsty for? That's the real question.

ReplyDeleteI think I was fortunate that I didn't end up in the hospital when I got this horrid bug. Many people did. I'm so sorry you got hit so badly, and I'm glad you are improving.
I am not going to offer any advice on that. I trust you. You have good sense about stuff like that. Maybe it helps a little to know that I believe in you, that I am praying for you.
ReplyDeleteI've lost your email address. Can you email me so it'll be in my address book? I am using the netbook almost exclusively now but don't have enough sense to know how to transfer all my old addresses.
Love and peace,
Me and Rowan
I was thinking that there are times when our hearts are deep in cynicism or defensiveness. At such times love is like that -- the one thing we most need, the one thing we most reject. Peace and good health to you.
ReplyDeleteI think the answer is in the paradox...
ReplyDeleteI agree with Barbara.
ReplyDeletePrayers for continued healing...
Diane, I am sorry you and your husband were so very sick. I offer my prayers that you both continue your progress toward return to full health and strength.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the lesson? I'm not sure. You did right to get help.
