I really like what it had to say about our requirement during Lent. This is the summary paragraph at the end of the article:<br /><br />"While the intent of sacrificing something we enjoy, the giving up of something that pleases us, is admirable, it is not the point of the Lenten Season. It is far more important that we give up our desire to control or command and become obedient to God's word than it is to sacrifice coffee, or some food we enjoy, or movies, or alcohol. God cannot be in control if we decide what we are doing or not doing this Lenten Season instead of listening to and responding to His desire for us. They raised their children there, home schooled with purchased material, I believe. I got to know their daughter and son-in-law in about 1982. He was an intern pastor, here, Baptist. That couple went to Japan and worked for their church group as well. Now they too are retired back to N Mn. Your post gives me food for thought and possibly some topics to discuss with these people.LoieJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01977264499770654307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1086978161944568008.post-70749931040115403542018-07-19T13:59:27.866-05:002018-07-19T13:59:27.866-05:00I love this Diane!
