I used that very illustration on Sunday when we were celebrating baptismal anniversaries. In a family or a tight knit community we feel each others pain and joy. Through baptism we are made members of the body of Christ and therefore connected to brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world. So as you say, "we were/are on that bridge" -- feeling pain, love and compassion even though we are not physically there.

Thanks for the great sermon.Pastor Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18281721067947261768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1086978161944568008.post-68498424182336712072007-08-13T06:34:00.000-05:002007-08-13T06:34:00.000-05:00And another "We are all on the bridge"!!!And another "We are all on the bridge"!!!Elaine (aka...Purple) https://www.blogger.com/profile/09439199680556347830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1086978161944568008.post-85513734327462652502007-08-13T04:31:00.000-05:002007-08-13T04:31:00.000-05:00Yes, I like the "we are all on the bridge..." angl...Yes, I like the "we are all on the bridge..." angle too.
