short domestic conversation

My husband thought I should post this:

He was having a problem with some phone conversations regarding business matters (felt that he just wasn't getting anywhere with getting his requests understood or acted upon).

Husband: They just think I'm a grumpy old man.

Me: Nonsense! They don't know you're old.

Husband: (raucous laughter, then pause) That was a joke, right?

Me: Right.
